Vitamin A: ā€œĀ Vitamin A (VitA) is a micronutrient that is crucial for maintaining vision, promoting growth and development, and protecting epithelium and mucus integrity in the body. VitA is known as an anti-inflammation vitamin because of its critical role in enhancing immune function. VitA is involved in the development of the immune system and plays regulatory roles in cellular immune responses and humoral immune processes. VitA has demonstrated a therapeutic effect in the treatment of various infectious diseases.ā€ -Nation Natural Science Foundation of China’s

Vitamin C: ā€œĀ Vitamin C is an essential micronutrient for humans, with pleiotropic functions related to its ability to donate electrons. It is a potent antioxidant and a cofactor for a family of biosynthetic and gene regulatory enzymes. Vitamin C contributes to immune defense by supporting various cellular functions of both the innate and adaptive immune system. Vitamin C supports epithelial barrier function against pathogens and promotes the oxidant scavenging activity of the skin, thereby potentially protecting against environmental oxidative stress. Vitamin C accumulates in phagocytic cells, such as neutrophils, and can enhance chemotaxis, phagocytosis, generation of reactive oxygen species, and ultimately microbial killing. It is also needed for apoptosis and clearance of the spent neutrophils from sites of infection by macrophages, thereby decreasing necrosis/NETosis and potential tissue damage. The role of vitamin C in lymphocytes is less clear, but it has been shown to enhance differentiation and proliferation of B- and T-cells, likely due to its gene regulating effects.Ā ā€

ā€œSupplementation with vitamin C appears to be able to both prevent and treat respiratory and systemic infections.ā€ -Department of Pathology, University of Otago.

Vitamin K:ā€œA role for vitamin K in cardiovascular and skeletal health has been reported.Vitamin K also is associated with a decreased production of pro-inflammatory cytokines inĀ in vitroĀ studies.

The mechanisms by which vitamin K influences biomarkers of inflammation are not known, although there is some suggestion that vitamin K suppresses inflammation by decreasing expression of genes for individual cytokines, such as interleukin-6 and osteoprotegerinā€œ -USDA Human

Sour

If you like sour things, then these are for you. Because I know how good they are for me, I will continue to use these daily. But I do wish they were a little sweeter or just less sour. They remind of Cry Baby candies from my childhood.

Hi Erin,

Ascorbic Acid is naturally quite acidic, we just launched a Sour-Free Chewables made with Sodium Ascorbate that you may find better suited for you :) https://revitalizewellness.org/products/sodium-ascorbate-vitamin-c-chewables-60-servings?_pos=7&_sid=d283b02c1&_ss=r
